Lightning Rodney is a very handsome male with style, presence, excellent conformation and sought-after fleece characteristics of locks combined with density in his regrowth. Rodney sheared a 4 lb blanket in May 2015 with only 1 year's growth. He produces a large quantity of beautiful fleece for spinning with moderate locking that leaves very little waste when carded. He posted a 24 micron AFD in 2013, providing luster, strength, and uniformity in his fleece.

Lightning Rodney's sire is the 9X Champion, Yodi's Creation, shown on both the east and west coasts by Wildlife Ranch and Baker's Alpaca Patch. Yodi's Creation produces amazing density, lock, and luster on his crias. Her grand sire is Yodi, a champion modern rose grey from 2 grey parents, Silver Bullet and Infinity Grey.

His dam, Cantano's Calypsa, is the daughter of Cantano of Peru, who Alpaca Ventures purchased for $265,000 at auction with over 134 registered crias, many which are champions and top placements in the shows. She has been an outstanding production dam for her owners and carries the Meteor/Cantano bloodlines providing density and deep maroon color.
