4/10/17 Our first of the season, and what a guy. ARI # 35222385. Sawdust's Almond Thunder weighed a whopping 23.5 lbs at birth and is gaining a pound a day, a testament to his robust health and potential as a herdsire. Sawdust Alpacas is very pleased with this boy. He is a very well-put-together male with a significant phenotype and bone structure. His crimp style is passed on from his sire, Sunset Hill's Golden Thunder (ARI #31017435) and his dam, Skyline's Almond Joy (ARI # 32821666). His consistent color is passed down from Joy's Lennox line. Thunder is not just a PR alpaca, he's a friendly companion. He loves to meet people and sometimes gives kisses, showing his affectionate nature. He has a great personality and disposition, making him a joy to have on the farm. He has soft-handled, dense fiber. With a 22-micron count, Thunder's fiber can be used for a wide range of products. Thunder's breeding potential is further underscored by his first cria, Sawdust's Jarrah, born 9/29/20. This female, a mirror image of her father in both color and size, weighed 17.9 lbs at birth. Thunder's 2nd cria - a brown male with a white face, named Koko, was born 5/29/21. Thunder's male crias born in 2022 are Sawdust's Babanus, born 9/29/22, and Sawdust's Murwiti, born 10/6/22. Jasper was born on 10/04/22 to Estate's Brazilian Agate at Summer Hill Farm in CA. Thunder has produced some ribbon-winning offspring, a testament to his excellent breeding potential and the quality of his genetics, as shown below! Our Thunder boys, Babanus, Murwiti, and Koko, made their mark at the Great Western Alpaca Show/Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase in Denver, CO, 4/28-4/30/23. The results for the Thunder boys are: Babanus: 2nd - Great Western Alpaca Show Halter 3rd - Rocky Mountain A;lpaca Showcase Halter 6th - Great Western Alpaca Show - Walking Fleece Murwiti: 1st - Great Western Alpaca Show - Walking Fleece 2nd - Great Western Alpaca Show - Halter 2nd - Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase - Halter KoKo: 3rd - Great Western Alpaca Show - Walking Fleece 5th - Great Western Alpaca Show - Halter KOKO did not participate in the Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase. We were very pleased with Thunder's offspring scores in these 2 shows, as they were the youngest in each of their age/sex/color groups. So lots of room for improvement. 2025 We are excited to announce our RETIREMENT SALE, where we are offering great discounts on packages and entertaining offers. We invite you to be part of this special event and let us know how we can make something great happen for you! Description

Sawdust's Babanus, born on 9/29/22, weighing 16.5 pounds, is a promising young alpaca. His dense, crimpy fiber, good bone structure, and conformation make him a strong contender for future shows. Despite his fiber appearing brown, it's actually a deep black with hints of brown, a unique trait that sets him apart. We're confident that Babanus will be a show winner come spring, a prospect that should excite all alpaca enthusiasts. Babanus is the offspring of Joey's Stargazer Lilly, a medium brown, and our herdsire, Sawdust's Almond Thunder, also a brown. He takes after his sire in more ways than one, especially in his calm and friendly disposition. Just like Thunder, Babanus is always ready to make friends, even if it means a playful tug on your shirt for attention. Babanus was entered in the Great Western Alpaca Show/Rocky Mountain Alpaca Showcase in Denver, CO, on April 28 - 30, 2023. He was in several different classes, including one called "Get of Sire," where 3 alpacas from the same sire are judged in the ring at the same time to see how many traits their sire has passed onto them. Babanus was classified as Dark Brown during the GWAS/RMAS color check. They did not consider him to be BayBlack. He placed 2nd in GWAS Halter, 3rd in the RMAS Halter, and 6th in Walking Fleece. Babanus was the youngest alpaca in his color/age class out of 325 registered show alpacas. So we are very pleased with his results. Babanus will be a great addition to your herd for fiber, pet, breeding, or show-quality alpacas. 2025 We are currently in the midst of our RETIREMENT SALE, offering significant discounts on packages and entertaining offers. This is a great opportunity for alpaca breeders and enthusiasts to add a high-quality alpaca like Babanus to their herd. Don't miss out on this exciting chance to make something great happen for you!
