One of the key females in our breeding program driving our focus to increase fleece weight will undoubtably be Miss Amulette du DNA. Despite being one of the youngest members of the 2022 cria crop, she produced the heaviest blanket at her first shearing in May 2023, marking an incredible start to her journey as a future foundation female. She exhibits strong traits that align with our breeding program’s goals. Her fleece is incredibly dense with a pleasing handle. With a blanket that is deprived of visible guard hair, Amulette’s fleece exhibits a highly aligned crimp that is uniform throughout with great level of brightness. Complementing her fleece is a phenotypically pleasing conformation, with a strong frame and great head style. As one of the select Tiger Lily Conopa’s Smoak daughters in our breeding program, Amulette carries the genetics of strong bloodlines. On her sire’s side, she descends from the Snowmass Conopa XXX line and Bolivian Ice Man, via his best daughter nonetheless; Tiger Lily Samantha Ice. She also takes her place as the strongest female produced by Ariva, sharing this distinction with her maternal sister, Auriflamme. Her dam is our last MMR Marocoyo daughter, a herdsire that has been incredibly valuable in our breeding program’s history.

Combining the lines of Snowmass Conopa XXX to Snowmass Pure Passion has brought excellent results, and that’s exactly why Miss Amulette du DNA was bred to 2x Reserve Champion Pure Reserve’s Arthgalo for her first cria. The first thing you’ll notice on Miss Arthéfacte du DNA’s fleece is how incredibly dense it feels. Could it be described as carpet dense? Possibly! Her density is certainly impressive, trait she inherited from her dam. The definition is coming along beautifully, evolving in high frequency and high curvature crimp. Arthéfacte is a well-grown young female, robust just like the family members from her maternal line and will hopefully mature just as well as her dam. One her sire side, she descends from Snowmass and Accoyo bloodlines with Snowmass Matrix, Accoyo America Marathon and MFI Peruvian Jericho. As for the bottom side of her pedigree, she comes from the lines of Snowamss Conopa XXX, Bolivian Ice Man and MMR Marcoyo. She is one of the first grandbabies of 9x Champion stud, Tiger Lily Conopa’s Smoak. Even if I was expecting her to be MF or LF in colour, she certainly does not disappoint. As a bonus, she is unrelated to our most used bloodlines, therefore could be crossed virtually with any males in our program without heavy linebreeding. From descendants of Averegan’s Magnus to Alpacajoy Excelsior or even A Wanted Man’s Zephyr, the possibilities are endless!
