Madrone, born on 7/8/2019, is a male alpaca with a stunning appearance from head to tail. His very consistent, crimped fiber and impeccable conformation are sure to impress. Born weighing 16.5 pounds, he gained 3 pounds in just 4 days, a feat that speaks volumes about his potential. The Pacific Madrone Tree, also known as Arbutus Menziesii, is a tree native to the Western Coastal areas of North America, from British Columbia to CA. It is known for its striking appearance, with smooth reddish-brown bark and glossy green leaves that turn a beautiful bronze in the fall. The Madrone tree also has a lignotuber near ground level that provides fire-resistant energy storage and sprouting. This unique feature has made the Madrone tree an essential part of the ecosystem in western coastal areas. 9/22/24 Madrone is the sire to 2 female crias this year. The firstborn on 9/2/24, to Sawdust's Jarrah - now owned by Casey Alpacas - is named Keita. Our Sawdust's Chrysanthus was born on 9/6/24 to Sawdust's Jessinia. Chrysan weighed 17.4 lbs at birth and has been very active and independent since her arrival. She is very conformationally correct and has beautiful, medium-fawn, curly fiber, very much like her sires.
